Trade ReviewThe symposium features seven papers on recent developments in the scholarly literature about Cambridge economist Piero Sraffa (1898–1983). Among the topics are documents of Sraffa at the Archivio Centrale dello Stato and the Archivio Storico Diplomatico, friendship and intellectual intercourse between Sraffa and Wittgenstein: a timeline, and Sraffa on the open versus closed systems distinction and causality. The general essays cover the Great Depression and macroeconomics reconsidered: the impact of policy and real-world events on economic doctrines, and two-population social cycle theories. A final section presents four reviews of Thomas C.
