Trade Review
Helping Kids Live Mindfully is a creative and engaging guide to introducing mindfulness at home or in the classroom. This book is full of practical and fun exercises that develop the self-awareness and focus required for calming down, paying attention and making better decisions in stressful situations. The mini meditations and journal writings stimulate natural curiosity and are a perfect antidote to digital overload. Author Catherine DePino demonstrates her personal experience with Mindfulness as well as her understanding of the needs of children with the inclusion of kindness practices that cultivate self-esteem and friendliness towards others. Kids, their teachers, parents and counselors will all benefit from these transformational practices. -- Robin Boudette Ph.D, licensed psychologist and certified mindfulness instructor, www.mindfulnessforeveryone.com
This is an excellent book that will help parents, teachers, counselors, therapists, and guardians, as well as the kids. DePino states in Notes to Kids that "the book will take you on an adventure into Mindfulness, a new way of thinking, talking, listening, and relating ..." I think it could do that for adults as well. There is a mini-meditation after each segment of instruction for the student that effectively reinforces that segment. This book is organized for easy usage by adult and child. -- William Delamar, hospital management expert and author
