Frank has been in the business of Gothic for over a quarter of a century. For that reason alone scholars owe him a huge debt....The bibliographer notes that of the 5,706 entries in the GG III, about ten percent represent dissertations or master's theses. Frank's work is surely significant here. He made those dissertations possible, or at least made many of them notably easier to finish.
