Book Synopsis
With the Free Evangelical Congregations, the work subjects a currently growing church to a detailed church-theoretical study for the first time. Not only historical-analytical insights, but also empirical data come into play. These are based on a member survey of 1,100 members of free evangelical congregations conducted in autumn 2019. The results promise deeper and differentiated insights into the special features of the free evangelical church model and thus offer a contribution to the discussion about the future of the church(es). In addition, the survey was designed on the basis of the EKD's fifth church membership survey, so that the work also offers fruitful comparisons and connections between the church forms as well as interdenominational suggestions.
