Book SynopsisThis collection provides insights into international labor migration in the context of globalization through the lens of international law and national law of some Asian countries that are the home countries of migrant workers. The main focus of the volume is on challenges regarding international labor migration that some developing countries in Asia have been confronted with. It investigates and determines current situations in some Asian developing countries having the majority of overseas migrant workers. It also places some emphasis on national regulatory systems of policies and regulations regarding overseas labour migration from those countries. In addition, in light of the current situation on international labour migration, the chapters outlines some recommendations and solutions for those selected developing countries in Asia to resolve existing problems to effectively ensure the protection of the rights of overseas labor migrants and governance of international labor migration in accordance with international standards.
