However, the historical and systematic depth of this human issue threatens to be forgotten. The present volume avoids the well-trodden paths of a purely conceptual history. Rather, he investigates the questions What is and how do we measure energy?, Energeia, God''s effectiveness and reality and Energiewende from the perspective of the humanities, natural sciences and engineering against the background of philosophy and theology. This makes it possible to uncover buried aspects and ramifications of thinking about energy beyond the superficial topicality of the day.
