Description
Book SynopsisTrade ReviewInnovative, different, clever. These words describe the trio of books in this series - Relationship Navigators (9780764355554), Emotional Explorers (9780764355530), and Feelings Forecasters (9780764356247). The idea behind these "teaching guides" is to connect nature and its elements to the feelings and experiences children face in their everyday lives. More and more, the expectations and pressures on children, emotionally and academically, can feel stifling and confusing and these books can be a wonderful resource to healthily sift and push through conflicts, discomforts, and new experiences to become our best selves. (Ages 8-12) -- Midwest Book Review, Children's Bookwatch
Emotional Explorers is a how-to about taking care of your inner world. It talks about koi fish, dragons, finding treasure, “emotional landscapes,” unique species that are endangered, and more. It is written by Maria Mercè Conangla and Jaume Soler. It also talks about social skills and managing emotions—something I do with my therapist Mr. C. One thing I especially like about this book is that it helps you do activities to manage your feelings. I think I should try some of these activities with Mr. C! You can be declared a World Heritage Site, take care of your house, be shipwrecked on an island, and more. How about a tea party? I love to pretend, and this book gives opportunities to use your imagination. I think that is a strength of this book that makes it useful and fun. We are what we are, and that’s what this book is all about. We are Intrepid Treasure Hunters. We are EMOTIONAL EXPLORERS. Anybody can enjoy this book – I know I do! (Susan Faith - Age 11) -- Kids' BookBuzz
Emotional Explorers is a much needed book that helps kids build deeper connections within themselves as well as the world around them. Following the activities in this book will help kids feel more anchored to their world and kids will walk away with a much fuller and richer understanding of themselves. I highly recommend it! -- iHeartLiteracy
