Eggs are not just for Easter you know. I’ve been inspired to look at my baking staple again in a whole new light. With so many beautiful egg designs I couldn’t wait to get started.

I love books like this as a source of inspiration, to flick through from time to time. Sparking my creativity. I am looking forward to developing my egg decorating technique and I can’t wait to make some of the projects that showcase my newly learnt techniques. A great resource for my craft room.

This is a great book to dip in and out of. It is well thought out and presented with beautiful photos. The book starts with a clear list of materials needed, and I feel that you can have a go without having to invest a lot of money into a new hobby.

The 50 designs/projects within the book mean that there is something to suit everyone's skill and sense of décor. I can't wait to try the peacock feather egg myself. There are both simple and complex designs in this book so there are family friendly projects along with designs to suit a more experienced crafter. I was pleased to see that there is something for everyone without it being to basic.

After the project section there is a section on how to display the eggs and they look fabulous! There is also a thorough and detailed technique section so everyone can jump in and have a go. Its been many years since I decorated eggs at school but this is a much more sophisticated and modern way of doing it.

I think this book would also make a nice gift idea along with a nice set of paints.

I was really impressed with the step-by-step guide to creating the egg designs, together with the tool guide and the detailed explanation of the different techniques used.

There are some really great designs and I really love the Gender-Reveal Gold Crackable Egg, a really original idea!

Some designs are more adult based, but there are also some designs which could be tackled by children, which makes it perfect for family crafting!

-- Susie Wilkinson * Amazon *

A varied collection of beautiful egg art projects, ranging from polka dots to the most intricate designs. Complete with techniques for preparing the eggs for painting, including "How to Blow Out an Egg". A lovely book.
