Jorge Alberto Tapía-Ortiz tiene un doctorado en Lenguas Hispánicas y Literatura por la Universidad de Pittsburgh. Sus investigaciones entrelazan la literatura latinoamericana, la historia, los movimientos sociales y las culturas populares. Se ha especializado en las literaturas indígenas contemporáneas. Realiza una estancia postdoctoral adscrito a la Maestría Estudios Amerindios y Educación Bilingüe y es profesor de la Facultad de Filosofía en la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro.

Se dedica a impartir talleres literarios en comunidades indígenas con la intención de promover la emergencia de nuevos escritores y escritoras, así como el empoderamiento y reconocimiento del pensamiento ancestral de los pueblos amerindios.

Jorge Alberto Tapía-Ortiz has a doctorate in Hispanic Languages and Literature from the University of Pittsburgh. His research intertwines Latin American literature, history, social movements, and popular cultures. He has specialised in contemporary indigenous literature. He is currently a visiting postdoctoral fellow attached to the Master's Degree in Amerindian Studies and Bilingual Education and a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy at the Autonomous University of Querétaro.

He teaches literary workshops in indigenous communities with the intention of promoting the emergence of male and female new writers, as well as the empowerment and recognition of the ancestral thought of Amerindians.
