Book Synopsis
Since its formation on 17 May 1958, The Devonshire and Dorset Regiment has played an extremely full role in the British Army's order of battle, serving in Cyprus, British Guiana (Guyana), Northern Ireland, West Germany, Malta, British Honduras (Belize), Berlin, the Falkland Islands, the Gulf, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. As a result of a reorganisation of the British Army, reflecting changing operational requirements, The Devonshire and Dorset Regiment, the senior County Regiment in the British Army, was merged into a new Regiment, The Rifles, on 1st February 2007.This book tells the story, largely in photographic form, of the many and varied achievements of all parts of the Regimental Family - the 1st Battalion, the Territorial Army, the Cadet Forces, the Regimental Associations and, of course, their families - during forty-eight momentous years.
