Trade Review
Given all of the changes in the system, there is clearly a need for psychotherapists to provide rapid, effective treatment for depression. Cognitive therapy is a short-term treatment with extensive data supporting its efficacy. However, most books provide an academic discussion of technique and fall short in clinical utility for practitioners wanting to learn 'how-to.' In this book, the authors have provided an invaluable resource by describing the theroapy in detail, session-by-session. The integration of extensive transcripts with treatment description and rationale is particularly useful. -- T. Byram Karasu, M.D., Silverman Professor and Chairman, Dept. of Psychiatry, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York
