Book SynopsisThe volume Church as Politeia comprises fifteen papers which were presented at a German-British Research Colloquium of the Becket Institute in Oxford. In these papers the political self-understanding of Christianity is analyzed in its historical development from various denominational perspectives. The authors of these contributions are theologians, lawyers, philosophers and historians from Germany and Great Britain.
