The book's valuable contribution is its details of political life and resistance under Israeli occupation, from the crushing poverty of life in the camps, to the humiliation, beating, threats, arrests, sexual harassment, prison experiences, and use of collaborators by the occupation authorities to suppress any buds of national resistance.
