Book SynopsisAdventures with Zap is a writing and drawing book designed to inspire playful writing (and pre-writing) practice for children ages 4-8. All the writing and drawing prompts are connected to a character-driven storyline about a space alien named Zap from the planet Vox Nova.
On his first trip to Earth, Zap visits a 'house of books' and is later surprised to discover that he's brought home an unusual stowaway. After trying to befriend the strange creature (who he believes is named Meow), he gets scratched, witnesses a attack, and recruits his friend Gooey to help stop the Earth monster. Luckily, letters from Earthkids help Zap manage his missteps.
In a land of robots, smart wagons, domed homes, and exotic plants, Zap ultimately learns of Meow's true identity and must face sending his beloved friend home. The story ends on a high note, while setting the scene for a natural continuation of Zap's adventures.
