I know this is a story about prejudice, but I think it would have been a better message to tell children that all people are welcome and deserving of love and acceptance when they show up rather than tying Fox's acceptance to saving the animals. The illustrations are amazing. They are so gorgeous and colorful and really make the book. My favorite was Fox with the flower." - Gilbert Public Schools "I liked this book. It made a good read aloud book for my youngest child. The story is simple, Fox gets displaced and seeks out friends and a new place to call his own. The animals are drawn with a cute style which means that children identify with them quickly.
