She is the author of \u003ci\u003eA Colourful Presence: The Evolution of Women's Representation in Iranian Cinema\u003c\/i\u003e. Her edited volume on seminal Iranian filmmaker Rakhshan Banietemad, \u003ci\u003eReFocus: The Works of Rakhshan Banietemad\u003c\/i\u003e was published in 2021. Her current research is on transnational cinema and culture, specifically the representation of gender and sexuality in Middle Eastern cinema.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eZahra Khosroshahi\u003c\/b\u003e is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto (SSHRC). She is currently working on her forthcoming monograph \u003ci\u003eIranian Women Filmmakers: A Cinema of Resistance.\u003c\/i\u003e Zahra's research explores how film challenges systems of power, and how filmmaking specifically functions as a form of resistance in Iran.
