Leaving her teaching post at the Bauhaus, she set up her own business in Berlin in 1932 to design fabrics for modern interiors throughout Europe. In 1936, she was banned from working due to her Jewish heritage. Attempts to escape to England and the USA failed. She was deported from Croatia to Auschwitz and was murdered there in 1944. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Visual artist and art historian \u003cb\u003eJUDITH RAUM\u003c\/b\u003e (*1977) has been preoccupied for several years with the Bauhaus textile workshop.
