Manuscripts of the \u003ci\u003eConsidérations\u003c\/i\u003e circulated clandestinely among \u003ci\u003ephilosophes\u003c\/i\u003e and other political writers such as the abbé Saint-Pierre, Voltaire, and Rousseau until its posthumous publication in 1764.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis is the first critical edition of d’Argenson’s \u003ci\u003eConsidérations\u003c\/i\u003e, based on four different manuscripts and presented here with a selection of d’Argenson’s other political writings that have never been published.
