One of the problems with other textbooks on cardiac catheterization is the lack of precise detail for readers, students, residents, fellows, and other physicians, about how actually to move the catheter to get it into certain positions. The chapter on catheter manipulation is superb. Other chapters involve guidewires, flow-directed catheters, certain techniques such as transseptal approaches, and an excellent chapter on retrograde cardiac catheterization.
